Get legal, and get insured – or get grounded
12 October 2018
New laws restricting drone photography make it essential to act now to be compliant – and to take out the right level of specialist drone insurance.
From November 30th, owners of drones weighing 250 grams or more must register with the Civil Aviation Authority and drone pilots must take an on-line safety test. This follows the restrictions introduced in May of 400ft maximum ascent, and drone-free zones within 1km of airport boundaries.
Drone photography and filming is becoming more of a professional service as a result, and for commercial flights full insurance is vital. Photoshield are now able to provide this through one of the most comprehensive policies on the market, underwritten by A rated insurers, Hiscox.
Quotations can be provided over the phone, or if the ‘normal office hours’ do not fit within your schedule you can complete the on-line form and a member of the team will contact you with the quotation.
Cover ranges from flight assessment cover to full annual bespoke policies.
The Flight Assessment cover is only £45 and is valid for 30 days, removing the need to have a full annual policy. In addition, we will refund the full £45 if you then take an annual policy.
All policies comply with Regulation (EC) 785/2004 as required by the CAA.
